Tzippy is 17 and lives in London, England. She likes playing the piano and hanging out with her sisters and friends.
Her parents are her role models. “They take everything in stride. They taught me how to live my life and become stronger and better as a person even when I got sick,” said Tzippy.
In 2021, Tzippy was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. “It took a while to sink in,” she said. “Before that, my life was just about being your regular 16-year-old teenager, schools, exams, tests, hanging out with friends, socializing, and then suddenly it wasn’t. It was about doctor visits, hospital appointments, worried faces, and just the future unknown.”
Tzippy met other girls who had faced cancer and told her about Camp Simcha. “They kept on telling me it was an experience of a lifetime and I should do the best I can to go,” said Tzippy, who attended Camp Simcha for the first time in summer 2022. “There’s nothing like it. Coming to camp and seeing that everybody understands each other and we all understand what we’ve gone through… it’s an amazing feeling.”
