Aviv is 11 and lives in Los Angeles, California. The sixth-grader enjoys reading Harry Potter, playing Minecraft, and tennis. His favorite subject in school is science and he hopes to pursue a career in robotics.
When Aviv was in third grade he was diagnosed with Burkitt's lymphoma, a rare cancer of the lymphatic system. That’s when Chai Lifeline came into Aviv’s life. Volunteers would visit him regularly in the hospital, playing games and lifting his spirits. His older sister participated in Chai Lifeline’s i-Shine afterschool program and, for the past three summers, Aviv has spent his summers at Camp Simcha where he enjoys zip lining, swimming, and candle-making.
"We appreciate everything Chai Lifeline does," says Aviv's mother. "Chai Lifeline was so supportive and helpful for our whole family when Aviv was sick and continues to be there for us after he recovered. When we were going through hard times, they were with us side by side."
