Dalya, 14, lives in Beachwood, Ohio*, and is the youngest of three siblings. The eighth-grader is a creative spirit and enjoys math and writing. Her favorite book is Wonder, a novel whose message is about the importance of kindness and acceptance.
At just three months old Dalya was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Despite undergoing numerous treatments and surgeries throughout the years, Dalya is upbeat and inspirational. "My doctor wasn't sure that I would be ok. But I showed them that I'm a fighter... I always try to be brave and believe in Hashem."
Dalya looks forward to spending the summer in “her favorite place in the world,” Camp Simcha, where she engages in activities such as arts and crafts, pottery, candle making, dancing, cooking, and baking. Dalya also loves taking part in Chai Lifeline Midwest Shabbatons during the year, where she meets other Chai Lifeline kids and reunites with her friends from camp.
