Cammy, 19, lives in Los Angeles and is a student at USC, where she is pre-med and majors in art history.
Cammy is also a competitive figure skater and has been gliding on the ice since she was 11. That year, she was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. After Cammy's father passed away at 14, Chai Lifeline became family for Cammy and her mother. Their case manager, Alyssa Weisel, would accompany Cammy and her mother to doctor appointments to help communicate their needs and provide moral support. Since then, the mother and daughter have attended numerous Chai Lifeline events and Cammy has attended Camp Simcha for two summers.
"What's amazing about Chai Lifeline is how involved they are with everyone," says Cammy. "Chai Lifeline isn't just about the advocacy, the spa days, retreats for my mom, the financial assistance, the Shabbat meals at the hospital, the birthday gifts, my entire social network and support. Chai Lifeline is everything! My cancer journey is far from over, but I know I can get through this because Chai Lifeline is there with me."
