Evie, a nine-year-old from Riverdale, NY, was diagnosed with cancer at age seven. Her mother reflects on how their Chai Lifeline case manager was like a "Bubbe" on call at all times for them—from Evie’s diagnosis, throughout treatment, and to this day. Evie was filled with anticipation when given an opportunity to attend Chai Lifeline’s renowned summer program for children with cancer, Camp Simcha – so much so that it gave her something to look forward to while she was sick. Evie shares how "it lived up to her expectations... and more!"
During her time at camp, Evie befriended two amazing girls who experienced similar cancer journeys; creating a powerful bond that she treasures. Evie and her family are most appreciative of the entire Chai Lifeline community for their ongoing support.
