When Tehilla, a Long Island, NY native, was not feeling well in the summer of 2022, her parents sought medical advice. The doctors were not concerned but as the pain persisted, her parents knew something was wrong. Once the pain worsened, they discovered Tehilla needed intensive treatment for a growing tumor and was inpatient for more than two weeks. Chai Lifeline stepped right in at that point to provide guidance along with meals, in-home support, case management, and more. After two months of treatment, the family was invited to the Summer Retreat at Camp Simcha, which provided respite for her parents and uplifting activities for Tehilla and her four sisters.
From Fall 2022 to Summer 2023, Tehilla underwent treatment and recovery, supported by Chai Lifeline's love and care. She enjoyed numerous activities and attention from her dedicated volunteers who would visit regularly. The family took part in Chai Lifeline’s Winter Family Retreat, an annual program that provides families the opportunities to connect with, and support, one another.
In 2023, Tehilla enjoyed an unforgettable summer at Camp Simcha with her counselor Simi, engaging in various activities like arts, crafts, and her favorite, face-painting, and loving "everything." Her father, Josh, noted that “Through Tehilla's time at Camp Simcha, family programs, meals, counselor support and beyond, Chai Lifeline has gone above and beyond to help our family.”
