Simcha Junior Volunteers is an educational training and volunteer program for middle school students who have an interest in making a difference in their communities. The program consists of a four-week training program which incorporates topics such as empathy, active listening, infection control, engaging in the mitzvah of bikur cholim (visiting the sick), and other related skills that are important when volunteering with children and families impacted by serious illness. Junior Volunteers are invited to participate in a variety of opportunities within the organization, ranging from teaming up with high school volunteers to serve as Big Brothers/Big Sisters to volunteering at events, and representing the organization in their school communities.
